Apple's new iPhone lineup will land in 35 additional countries starting later this month.
On Oct. 25, Apple's flagship 5s and 5c smartphones will be available in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, French West Indies, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion Island, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Thailand.
A week later, on Nov. 1, the devices will reach customers in Albania, Armenia, Bahrain, Colombia, El Salvador, Guam, Guatemala, India, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the UAE.
The iPhone 5s and 5c are already available in the U.S., Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and the U.K.
Cupertino unveiled its next-generation smartphones in early September: the iPhone 5s is available in a new gold color and sports Apple's A7 64-bit chip, plus an improved camera, and the Touch ID fingerprint-based security option.
Its lower-cost counterpart, the 5c, is sold in five colors — green, blue, yellow, pink, and white — with a price tag of $99 for 16GB and $199 for 32GB. Aside from its eye-popping colors, the 5c also sports a 4-inch Retina display, an 8-megapixel iSight camera, and a new FaceTime HD front cam.
When the phones first launched, Apple sold 9 million new iPhones in three days, crushing previous records. With that demand, though, came a lack of supply. The gold iPhone 5s became such a hot commodity that shipments of the champagne-hued smartphone were delayed for several weeks.
There is no word on foreign discounts, but a handful of U.S. retailers have already dropped the price of the new plastic iPhone 5c. Best Buy last week began offering a free $50 gift cardwith the purchase of a 5c with two-year carrier agreement. Days later, Walmart and RadioShack offered similar promotions: pick up a $45 iPhone 5c at Walmart, or get a $50 gift card from RadioShack through Nov. 2.
Meanwhile, Apple is rumored to be holding a press event on Oct. 22 to reveal its new iPad lineup, but Cupertino has not yet made any announcements.
